Music > Alternative > Fido

Fido is not new to the Christian or secular music scene and has not stayed silent. Last year, playing at shows around Australia and Malaysia, they managed to find time to record their debut album. Something you should have has been a few years in the making, but the wait has been worth it. Fido has just released it to welcome in the new year of 2009.

Daniel Kelaart (top 100 Australian Idol 2006) joined in 2007 bringing smooth vocal and guitar talents, giving the band a fresh sound, and complimenting Jesse Chatelier (bass guitar) on lead vocals. All the band, including the founding members of Fido, Pete Seamons (electric guitar), Alex DesForges (drums) and Chatelier are excited at what 2009 will bring with the new album.

Pete summed up the mood of the whole band, disclaiming "weve got a new album, and its awesome!". True in what Seamons says, the new album has great tracks like
Something You Should Know, On the Road, Be a Light, and their debut single from the album Disciple.

Featured on Channel V, Rage and Video Hits, with national airplay for their cover of Delta Goodrems song Lost Without You, Fido received many spins.
Fido have played at Rod Laver Arena in front of over twelve thousand people at the Victorian Youth Alive event, and furthermore have played and headlined many spots at festivals including; Blackstump, Easterfest, Slingshot and Forest Edge... plus hundreds of other shows.

Fido are known for their high energy on-stage performances, sharing the stage with artists like Antiskeptic, Kiss Chasy, Seraphs Coal and Wishful thinking. Of their recorded songs, Lift Me Up has had high rotation on the international hit Christian youth radio show The Reality Zone, with many fans only being able to hear their music at the grass roots level. Fast forward to 2009, Fido has refocused their energy into the new album and are about to hit the road and tour around Australia, playing in all major capital cities from February onwards.
